About Scott Lindner
Scott was raised and educated in Columbiana, Ohio from the 1st grade. He loved art class and was always drawing, painting and creating. It was his passion from an early age. His artistic potential was recognized by his art teachers and by his senior year in high school Scott spent four periods a day in the art class room.
He, also, grew up in a creative environment that encouraged his natural talent. Both his mother and grandmother were artistic—they were always working on some artistic or creative endeavor. Scott's mother, for example, painted circus animals on the walls of his bedroom—and his stepfather was no different. He was not artistic per say, his interest lie in construction and building things. He always had a project and frequently involved him and the other members of the family in his projects. This, begrudgingly, did teach him much about building, tools and carpentry that have proved very helpful in the future.
He also studied with locally renown artist Cheri Mohn to further improve his artistic abilities. After graduating from Columbiana high school Scott proceeded to study art, photography and art history at Youngstown State University. During his time there he participated in many exhibition at the university and the Butler Institute of American Art. He won awards and gained more recognition and respect as an artist. Consequently, he did an internship with the director of the museum Dr. Louis Zona. Scott and Dr. Zona are in contact to this day. He graduated with honors obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Scott would later come back to Youngstown State University and teach art. He developed the course curriculum for teaching graphic design production procedures which was used until the introduction of the computer.
Through the years, Scott has worked in many mediums and styles. He has enjoyed the delicacy of soft pastels, oil and acrylic painting on canvas, trompe l'oeil wall and mural painting, relief and sculptural pieces in paper pulp and creating his own copyrighted painting medium which he currently uses to create hauntingly beautiful abstract works on canvas utilizing pure mineral pigment powders.
He has been commissioned to paint portraits for such well known political figures as President Ronald Regan, Prime Minister Edward Heath of Great Britain, Caspar Weinberger, Oliver North and Pierre Salinger. He has worked in New York City's garment district in designer showrooms and residences painting trompe l'oeil features.
Currently Scott has a thriving art business which has expanded to include signed and numbered reproduction of his original works, decorative items such as pillow and fabrics. He is also developing silk and polyester scarves as well as handbags. These items will be available by the summer of 2015. He is always evolving and developing as an artist by following his passion in the moment.
Scott is a member of the Pastel Society of Southern California, and an industry partner with the ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and is represented by ArchAngel Art Collective Gallery in Palm Springs, CA and designer Nancy Fath's showroom, Chandeliers & Tulips in Agoura Hills, CA. He will be published in the October 2013 issue of Dwell Magazine, 805 Living magazine and LA Design magazine.
